Eric Lang embarked on his career with the Key Biscayne Fire Rescue Department in 1993 at the age of 21. As the second youngest member of the pioneering 30-personnel team, Lang’s passion for firefighting and public service was immediately apparent. He quickly distinguished himself through his exceptional skills, strong work ethic, and genuine desire to serve. Lang’s early years were characterized by rigorous training, hands-on experience, and the pursuit of excellence.
In 2003, Lang was promoted to Lieutenant and quickly promoted to Executive Fire Officer to the Fire Chief. In that position, he held Assistant Fire Marshal, and Training Officer for the Key Biscayne Fire Rescue Department.
In 2007, Lang was promoted to Deputy Fire Chief. Here he led the position of Fire Marshal as well and continued to make a significant impact on the community.
In 2012, after nearly two decades of dedicated service, Lang was appointed as the Fire Chief of Key Biscayne Fire Rescue. This promotion was a recognition of his outstanding contributions and his ability to lead with vision and integrity. As Fire Chief, Lang has been responsible for overseeing all aspects of the department’s operations, ensuring that the community receives the highest level of emergency services.
