About Miami Vein Center

Miami Vein Center was founded Dr. Jose Almeida, a double boarded vascular surgeon, in 1999.  Miami Vein Center combines the unparalleled expertise of Dr. Jose Almeida with a clinically proven new technology called “endovascular venous surgery”  to treat all spectrums of venous diseases.

Dr. Almeida is a leading scholar in venous surgery.

As a pioneer in endovascular venous surgery, Dr. Almeida and his staff have performed over 10 thousand procedures for the treatment of venous diseases, including occluded deep veins, pelvic veins, varicose and spider veins, with outstanding results. In fact, Dr. Almeida has literally written the book on endovascular venous surgery.

At Miami Vein Center, we are committed to providing our patients the highest quality care in a safe, comfortable environment. Jose Almeida, MD a Board Certified Vascular Surgeon, leads our center of excellence. Dr Almeida has been serving the Miami community since 1998 and founded the Miami Vein Center in 2002, an accredited vein center. Our talented team of experts is dedicated to the proper evaluation, diagnosis, management and treatment of vascular disease but the primary focus is venous disease.

MVC satisfies State of Florida Board of Medicine requirements for office-based surgery and is accredited by the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care (AAAHC). and Intersocietal Accreditation Commission – Vein Center (IAC-VC). Our vascular laboratory has been accredited for the last decade by the Intersocietal Commission for the Accreditation of Vascular Laboratories (ICA-VL). The IAC programs for accreditation are dedicated to ensuring quality patient care and promoting health care and are all dedicated to one common mission: improving health care through accreditation. Our two fully equipped endovascular suites are state-of-the-art. We are one of the only Vein Centers in the United States which has earned “triple accreditation.”

At MVC we have 7000 square feet of space to accommodate multiple examination rooms, a full-service operating room, 2 vascular laboratories and an angiosuite. This allows us to a full-service Endovascular Venous Surgery center.
