The Pat & Pat Power Team:
Patricia Romano & Patricia Riestra-peraita Help Build A Stronger Key Biscayne
Patricia Romano and Patricia Riestra-Peraita (The Pats) are licensed Real Estate Brokers, Certified Short-Sale Specialists, and Licensed Residential and Commercial Property Managers. The Pats have been in the real estate business for over 35 years, starting their prestigious careers at Coldwell Banker in Key Biscayne, where these two accomplished and admirable women met and initiated a long-lasting personal and business relationship. Their business partnership and their unwavering friendship were at times challenged by adversity, but such hardships only served to harden their characters and their resolve to succeed.
Pat Romano, originally from Colombia, came first to New York City when she was recently married. She learned English and worked for a very prestigious architecture firm in Long Island. She then moved to Houston, where she worked for Exxon Corporation. Her two daughters, Antonella and Angelina, were born in Houston. The family moved to Key Biscayne in 1985. Pat Romano started working for Coldwell Banker at the time, starting her successful real estate career and continuing her remodeling and construction business.
Patricia Riestra-Peraita, originally from Nicaragua, moved to Key Biscayne in 1980 when her family had to abandon the country because of political unrest. Pat had one daughter, Vanessa, at the time, and her second daughter Patty was born in Key Biscayne. She started her real estate career in 1992 when she joined the Team of Coldwell Banker.
A few years later in 1998, The Pats continued their successful real estate careers at Wimbish Riteway Realtors in Miami Beach, where they soon became members of the company’s most prestigious Top Producers. The Pats were selected as part of the team that established Wimbish Riteway Realtors in Key Biscayne. After a stellar performance by The Pats in the Key Biscayne office, Patricia Romano went on to occupy the position of Manager of the Wimbish Riteway office in Key Biscayne and in Coconut Grove.
In 2003, The Pats decided to become independent real estate brokers-owners and became founding partners of Bayfront International Realty and Associates, which in record time became one of the largest and most profitable real estate companies in Key Biscayne. The Pats eventually acquired complete ownership of the company, changing its name to Pat & Pat Bayfront Realty and Associates, LLC, a company they successfully managed for over 15 years.
They were acquired by Coldwell Banker in 2020 and joined the company as the PatandPat Power Team.
The Pats simply could not resist the allure of returning to their old alma mater under the management of the incomparable Michael Suarez, one of the most capable real estate brokers and managers in South Florida.
In addition to real estate sales, The Pats own PatandPat Property Management Services, LLC. The company manages luxury residential properties in Key Biscayne and other locations in Miami-Dade County as well as commercial real estate properties such as L’Esplanade Shopping Center in Key Biscayne. After years of hard work by The Pats, L’Esplanade is now a splendid shopping arcade fully occupied by a very diversified group of tenants providing services to our community. It is a remarkable tribute to the property management skills of this dynamic duo.
The Pats are also the owners of PRP Construction and Design Services, LLC. Patricia Romano is one of the very few female licensed general contractors in the State of Florida. Patricia Romano has a degree in Architectural Design and studied at the prestigious New York School of Interior Design when she lived in New York. When the family moved to Houston, she attended the University of Houston, School of Architecture for three years before moving to Key Biscayne.
The Pats firmly believe that successful professionals like them must contribute to the enrichment of the community where they live and work. The Pats have both occupied the presidency of the Key Biscayne Rotary Club and are members of its Board of Directors. They are also members of the Key Biscayne Rotary Club Dominoes for Education Committee and other committees to raise funds to educate children in Haiti and to provide means of transportation for these children to receive specialized healthcare services in the Dominican Republic. The Pats are also members of the Key Biscayne Rotary Club Spring Festival Committee and have occupied leadership roles in fundraising events to eradicate polio and malaria throughout the world. They are currently involved in the Rotary committee promoting the utilization of special nets to repel malaria-carrying mosquitoes in Venezuela, Colombia, and Peru.
Patricia Riestra-Peraita’s family has a long Rotarian tradition. Her father was a prominent Rotarian in Nicaragua, and her grandfather was a Rotarian District Governor in Merida, Yucatan, Mexico. Patricia Riestra-Peraita is a devout Roman Catholic. She has been a lector, Eucharistic Minister, and member of St. Agnes Church since 1980.
Patricia Romano was also involved in many civic groups during the incorporation of the Village of Key Biscayne, fomenting the need to preserve our community values and our attractive and privileged lifestyle. After our village became a reality, she was a member of the Master Plan Committee, and she is still a member of the Key Biscayne Land Acquisition Committee. During her tenure on this committee, the Village of Key Biscayne purchased properties to build two passive parks for the enjoyment of our community.
The Pats have both chaired the Key Biscayne Chamber of Commerce Board and are on the committee in charge of the Key Biscayne Fourth of July Parade. They were also instrumental in the Village of Key Biscayne allowing the use of golf carts through the whole Village, giving residents the right to use golf carts as a second way of transportation.
Their active participation in so many civic associations and events amply demonstrates their commitment to improving the lives of our Key Biscayne neighbors.
